Step 1 :- Shutdown your laptop and flip it over.
Step 2 :- Remove the battery.
Step 3 :- Remove the 4 screws encircled in this picture.
Step 4 :- Flip your laptop back over and then press and hold down the power button for 4-5 seconds to discharge the capacitors on your laptop’s motherboard.This step is IMPORTANT because you don’t want to fry anything on your laptop’s motherboard.
Step 5 :- Now ground yourself either by wearing an anti-static wrist band or by standing barefeet on the floor which’s what I did or by touching something metallic or you can use any other method of your choice.Again,this step is IMPORTANT because you don’t want to fry anything on your laptop’s motherboard.
Step 6 :- Press down on the plastic trim between your keyboard and speaker grill and then lift the keyboard up.
Step 7 :- Disconnect your keyboard’s ribbon cable connector.Now,your keyboard is out !
Step 8 :- Now take your replacement keyboard and connect it’s ribbon cable connector to your laptop’s motherboard.This step requires gradual application of a little bit of force but be careful and don’t use brute force.This step is thoroughly explained in the video below.
Step 9 :- Put everything back together as shown in the video below.
